According to the press release, this is a program that is designed to strengthen Illinois' affordable housing pipeline.

This program provides up-and-coming for-profit and nonprofit developers with critical training in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) industry, which hopes to then bring affordable housing projects to life across Illinois.

Training Developers to Meet Community Needs

Through a combination of technical assistance, early-stage capital, and access to industry experts, Next Gen helps developers gain the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the complex processes of affordable housing development.

IHDA Executive Director Kristin Faust said the program "opens doors for developers who are ready to shape the future of affordable housing in Illinois."

Supporting Diverse Voices and Regions

According to the press release, Next Gen prioritizes applicants from rural, suburban, and urban communities, making sure that housing investment benefits all parts of Illinois.
