Beloved Loves Park Restaurant, The Pomodoro, Is Permanently Closing
The Rockford area has had some pretty big scores when it comes to restaurants lately, but unfortunately, we've had some tough losses too.
New Restaurants in the Rockford Area
When it comes to new, cool places to grab a bite to eat, the Rockford area is pretty blessed. Here are a few examples:
After years of begging, we finally got a Raising Cane's location in Rockford.
Machesney Park has a Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers and Church's Texas Chicken now, and the highly-anticipated Buona Beef recently opened in Loves Park too.
While these restaurants are just a few of the new eateries that have opened, or will be opening soon in the Rockford area, progress always seems to come at a cost, and The Pomodoro in Loves Park is the latest casualty.
The Pomodoro Announces Closure
Do you remember back in early April when Baked Wings on E Riverside in Loves Park announced they were permanently closing?
Well, that news certainly sucked, but knowing we could still use our Baked Wings gift cards at its sister restaurant, The Pomodoro, made the announcement sting a little less.
Until this week...
A post on The Pomodoro's Facebook says;
This is the post we never thought we’d have to write. With immense sadness, we must share that we are closing our doors after Saturday, May 24th. This journey has been nothing short of incredible—filled with laughter, love, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
The Pomodoro's post goes on to thank all of their amazing staff and customers who have supported them through the last 4 years, and a heartfelt wish for people to come in, say goodbye, and help them celebrate their next new chapter.
