Missing Rockford Woman’s Car Found, But Her Whereabouts Remain Unknown

A Rockford-area family is asking for the community’s help finding a missing woman who was last seen on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Missing Woman from Rockford

Over the last few days, I have seen posts shared in many Rockford area Facebook groups asking for help finding Brittany Mauerman, and it breaks my heart.

Brittany, who is also known as “Kaykay Bri” on Facebook, has not been heard from since early Thursday (10/8) morning, according to a social media post shared by her sister. Her family says her disappearance is completely out of character and that she has three children who are very worried about their mom.

Early updates from Brittany's family and friends said Brittany was last heard from at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, and that she had gone to a house party in Pecatonica. Her vehicle and plates were later caught by a Flock camera at Alpine and Charles in Rockford around 4 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Brittany's family has also shared that her car has been found in the Buckingham Apartments area of Rockford, but her back license plate had been removed, and that Brittany is still missing.

Family Shares Concerning Update in Search for Brittany Mauerman

On Tuesday morning, (10/13) Brittany's sister shared another concerning update:

We have word from the streets that she is being held hostage at a hotel or motel. We don’t know which one or a room number yet! If you can get information from people in the streets please help!! The one hotel that has been named twice is Red Roof! But we aren’t 100% sure that it’s accurate!

As a woman and a mom, it's heartbreaking to think about a family going through something like this, especially when three children are waiting for answers about their mom.

Sometimes, a small detail that seems insignificant to one person can be incredibly important in a missing-person case. Someone may have seen Brittany, noticed something unusual near the Buckingham Apartments, or have information about the party in Pecatonica. Please reach out to the Rockford Police Department immediately if you know anything.

Please Note: The information in this article is based on details shared by Brittany’s family on social media and has not yet been confirmed by the Rockford Police Department. Details may change as more information becomes available.
