There is nothing worse that being awoken by leg cramps in the middle of the night.

That's what happened to me last night. Ugh!

It was most likely a combination of two things: not drinking enough water and wearing too flat of shoes (my loveable flip flops).

However, there is an instant cure for them.

Tonic Water.I'm dead serious. Drink about 1/4 of cup of Tonic Water with quinine and the cramps will cease.

The best part is you can pick a bottle up in the soda or liquor aisles of pretty much any grocery store.

If you don't like the taste of tonic water, I found a few other home remedies your can try through

Here's a few suggestions:

- Take a tsp. of yellow mustard. Yeesh, wouldn't be my pick.

- Mix a tsp. of baking soda in 8 oz. of water and drink.Sounds more like Alka-Seltzer, think I'll stick with Tonic Water.

- Drink 3 Tbsp. of vinegar mixed in 1/2 cup of orange or vegetable juice.

Overall, we just need to drink more water, but in the interim when those awful cramps happen at least you know what you can take for immediate relief.
