The New Portillo’s Coming to Wrigleyville Has One Feature Fans Have Never Seen
As someone who has made more than a few trips to Wrigley Field over the years, I have one important question...
How has there never been a Portillo's right by the Friendly Confines?

Seriously. Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, Cubs baseball, and Wrigleyville all belong together, and soon they'll all be in one place!
New Portillo's Location Coming to Chicago
In case you missed it, Portillo's recently revealed plans to open a brand-new restaurant in Wrigleyville at 3519 N. Clark Street, and they made the announcement in the most Chicago-way possible:
This new restaurant will be about 4,600 square feet with seating for more than 60 guests. But, there is one big thing that will make this new location unique: it will be the first to feature a walk-up window!
Portillo's press release says:
It will also feature the brand’s first-ever walk-up window, constructed for ordering and pickup. The Wrigleyville restaurant will be designed for high-foot-traffic environments, leveraging the smaller-format, inline prototype that reflects Portillo’s broader growth strategy.
If you've ever been around Wrigley before a Cubs game or after a sold-out concert, you know thousands of people are already walking up and down Clark Street looking for something to eat. Now we'll be able to order ahead, and simply walk up to pick up our food.
Not having to deal with ridiculous traffic or parking lot pandemonium when you're hangry? I'm in. One hundred percent!
Portillo's says the new Wrigleyville restaurant is expected to open sometime in 2027, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be ready by Opening Day at Wrigley Field!
