
South Beloit Murder-Suicide Leaves 2 Dead, Investigation Ongoing
A tragic situation in South Beloit after authorities report two people found dead inside a residence.
Welfare Check Leads to Grim Discovery
According to the press release, police arrived at the residence for a requested welfare check around 9 am and found the home locked with no response at the door.
Officers then spotted a bullet hole in the window and forced entry into the home, where they discovered a man and woman, both deceased.
Gunshot Wounds Confirmed by Autopsy
In a report from the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, the victims were pronounced dead at 10:24 am, and autopsies confirmed that both of the individuals died from gunshot wounds.

The coroner's findings indicated that the female victim was shot before the male suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigation Points to Domestic Murder-Suicide
Officials say the circumstances surrounding this incident are consistent with a domestic-related murder-suicide.

While the identities of the deceased have not yet been released, the South Beloit Police Department and the Winnebago County Coroner's Office continue to investigate the case.
