What Do Rockford Residents Think the City Has Too Much Of?

What does Rockford have too much of? Residents had plenty to say when someone posed that question on the What's Happening in Rockford Facebook page, and the responses covered some pretty pointed opinions about the city.

Car Washes, Coffee Shops, and Taco Places Make the List

Some of the most common complaints involved businesses that seem to be popping up everywhere. One post listed "slots, car washes, and food trucks," while another pointed to car washes, coffee shops, and chicken restaurants.

Taco spots also got some attention. One resident joked that there's nearly a taco place on every corner, while others said it's McDonald's and gaming parlors on every street. Pizza places, however, receive a friendlier response. One comment suggested Rockford had too much pizza, but then added that there's "never too much pizza."

Traffic, Gunfire, and Frustrations

Other responses focused on more serious issues that residents would like to see addressed, like bad drivers, gunfire, and people begging for money, which were frequently mentioned.

One resident complained about seeing the same panhandlers at the same intersections for years, and another post joked that the city has too many "discarded Patron liquor boxes left randomly in the street."

Flock cameras also came up frequently in the discussion, but not every answer involved public safety.
