A middle school student brought two handguns into class today and opened fire. Just another day in America. It's sad but true. We're getting accustomed to this and it's not a good thing. Kids are dying yet we just keep going about our days. Ya we don't like it, but we don't seem too interested in fixing it either.

Until the day comes that we don't have to worry about our kids while they're getting an education. Heroes like the science teacher at Noblesville West Middle School and Officer Mark Dallas at Dixon High School will have to keep putting their lives in danger with tremendous acts of bravery.

CBSnews.com is reporting that, "Seventh-grader Ethan Stonebraker says the class was taking a test when the student walked in late, pulled out a gun and started firing. He says the teacher "immediately ran at him, swatted a gun out of his hand and tackled him to the ground." Stonebraker adds, "if it weren't for him, more of us would have been injured for sure."

The name of the teacher, victim, and shooter have not been released as of yet. Footage of the scene will be reviewed, but when all is said and done. This teacher will have a lot of parents buying him drinks. Thanks to him a terrible crisis was averted and almost without injury.

CBS affiliate WTTV reports the injured student is a 13-year-old girl. Another student suffered a broken ankle, the station reports.
