Popular Illinois Nursery Opening New Rockford Location in April

In October 2025, Platt Hill Nursery announced they were expanding to Rockford and taking over the former Village Green location on E Riverside. Now they've finally announced a grand opening date.

Preparing for Spring in Illinois

Now that temperatures are warmer and we’ve been able to get outside to take a long look around our yards, I'm sure many people are seeing a lot of work that needs to be done over the next few months.

Currently, my yard is a mess of dog poo, dead plants, sad flower beds, and mystery sticks that used to be perennials. I love planting flowers throughout my yard each spring, and over the winter I spent a lot of time on Pinterest dreaming up new landscaping plans for this year.

I have my perfect yard vision, now I just need to decide where to go to help make them a reality, and the new Platt Hill Nursery at 6101 E. Riverside Blvd will likely be my first stop.

Grand Opening of Platt Hill Nursery Rockford

Back in October as Village Green was getting ready to close, it was announced that Platt Hill Nursery would be taking over operations of the E Riverside location in spring 2026, and grand opening day is almost here!

Platt Hill Nursery currently has locations in Bloomingdale and Carpentersville, Illinois, and its new Rockford location will officially open on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Platt Hill Nursery Rockford's grand opening celebration will feature a ribbon cutting, giveaways, gardening events, and guest speakers. If this grand opening is anything like the Spring Show they recently hosted at their other two Illinois locations, you definitely won't want to miss it!
