You'll begin to see a new face on your TV and around the city beginning June 3 as a new era for Eyewitness News is set to start.

According to a press release from WTVO 17 and FOX 39, there will be a new co-host with Mimi Murphy on the 5 pm and 10 pm newscasts beginning June 3.

Wendell Edwards is joining Eyewitness News and will bring a wealth of experience and "passion for delivering accurate and compelling news" after previous stops in Grand Rapids, Houston, Oklahoma City, and others.

Beginning June 3 on Eyewitness News at 5 pm, Edwards will begin co-hosting with Mimi Murphy alongside Candance King with Weather and Sports with Scott Leber.

A few interesting facts about TV news anchor Wendell Edwards, he was a former two-time Division II national champion hurdler, a 7-time NCAA All-America, and made it to the quarterfinal round of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials.
