3 New Exciting Things Coming to Rockford’s 2024 Stroll On State Celebration

One of Illinois' biggest and best holiday celebrations, Stroll On State in Rockford, is less than a month away, and there are several new things to get excited about this year.

Let's start with the most important piece of information in case you haven't marked your calendars yet; the12th annual Stroll On State celebration is happening on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 2 to 9 p.m. all throughout Downtown Rockford.

As usual, the party will have a TON of family-friendly holiday fun to enjoy including the ever-popular Stroll On State Parade and tree lighting, live music and performances, food, drinks, shopping, visits with Santa and SOO much more, BUT this year 3 new exciting attractions have been added to the lineup too!

3 New Attractions Coming to 2024 Stroll On State

I think what I love most about Stroll On State, (besides the fact that it looks like Christmas blew up all over Downtown Rockford), is that every year they add new things for us to see and enjoy so we keep coming back for more!

Before I share the three brand new things coming to Stroll On State, I need to mention that a few old favorites will be returning for this year's celebration. Yes, The Dasher Dash 5K is still happening at 12 p.m.(with a new t-shirt design), visits with Santa are back, AND Randy Finch, aka, "The Ice Guru" and his amazing  on-the-spot ice sculptures will be coming back to this year's Stroll On State.

Now, here are three exciting new things you won't want to miss at Stroll this year...

1. Drone Show

This cool show will take place immediately following the tree lighting and will feature a variety of holiday and Rockford images. (the drone show will be followed by fireworks!)

2. Stroll On State T-Shirt Design Contest

3. A new location for Movie Land

'The Grinch' movie will be shown at two locations throughout Stroll On State. The outdoor location will be along 1st St. in the lot between the Rockford IceHogs office and Galaxy Salon and the new indoor location at Stewart Square.
