
Busy Rockford Street to Close in 3 Days for Watermain Repairs
Some Rockford drivers may need an alternative route to the office next week, as a planned street closure on the city's west side is scheduled.
Traffic Detoured as Morgan Street Closes for Watermain Project
According to a press release from the City of Rockford, a temporary road closure on Tuesday, November 18, as city crews begin watermain work along Morgan Street.

Starting at 7 am, both lanes will be closed to through traffic from Sanford Street to Corbin Street, with work expected to be completed by the end of Tuesday (11/18).
Detours and Access for Local Residents and Businesses
Traffic in the construction area will be detoured south to Montague Street via Central Avenue and Corbin Street.
According to the press release, homes and businesses within the work zone will remain accessible, with posted detour routes directing drivers around the closure.
Officials said the project will proceed as planned, unless weather conditions don't allow for construction work.
City Urges Drivers to Use Caution in Work Zones
Residents traveling through the area are urged to slow down, obey posted work zone speed limits, and remain alert for workers on site.

The City of Rockford noted in the press release that maintaining safe driving behavior is critical to protecting crews completing the water infrastructure improvements.
