(Note: TIL = Today I Learned)

I never even thought about the backside of a package because who is checking out the nutritional value? I mean, it's bacon and that's all you need to know. That all changed when I witnessed an older couple bickering about "the back of the package, Henry!" followed by, "you gotta check the color." Being the eavesdropper I am I thought I should check out the back of my own bacon packages. I had no idea what I was looking for. Thank God for Google.

Today, after a quick search, I learned that little window on the backside of bacon packages is so you can see how much fat is on your bacon. There is no right or wrong amount because it's all about personal preference. #bringonthefat

TIL: Why bacon is visible from both sides of its packaging.
