As the mother of two girls, stories like this terrify me. According to WIFR, Sycamore Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for using a dating app to meet young girls. WIFR reports;

Skyler Whitenack told girls on the app "Meet Me" that he was a minor in order to meet up with them.

Police believe Whitenack met with one girl last month. As part of their investigation, undercover officers posed as an underage girl earlier this week to meet Whitenack. When he showed up, Whitenack was taken into custody.

My girls may only be 3 and 11 months, but I fear the dangers they will have to face as they get older. It may be a stupid thing to do, but right now I try to live my life veiled in ignorant bliss so I don't drive myself crazy with worry about the direction this society is heading. As my girls enter their teen years, I don't want to be the overbearing parent who watchdogs everything, but to keep them safe I think I may have to. As technology continues to advance, so will the avenues and instances for predators like this.

So, my question for all other parents is this; How do we keep our kids safe in a highly technological age while still allowing them to be "normal" teens and kids?

Trying to find the answer makes my head hurt, please help me.
