The Wahlburgers in St. Charles is currently the only dine-in restaurant location you can enjoy in Illinois, but if the delicious burgers, tater tots, fries, and salads are the only things you're after, the Wahlburgers inside Hy-Vee stores throughout Illinois are perfect for you!

Hy-Vee's Relationship With Wahlburgers

If you're sitting there wondering how Hy-Vee stores were able to land Wahlburgers locations in their stores, the answer is simple; it's all Mark Wahlberg's fault.

According to this 2018 article from the Des Moines Register, Mark Wahlberg was in Des Moines back in 2017 to help open a new Hy-Vee store and promote his Performance Inspired nutritional supplements that are sold exclusively by Hy-Vee. While there, Wahlberg made one simple comment to Hy-Vee CEO Randy Edeker; "Randy, you've got to be building Wahlburgers restaurants", and so, eventually, they did.

Wahlburgers officially opened at Hy-Vee in Sycamore located at 2700 DeKalb Ave. on Tuesday, August 23, and people are definitely loving it!

If you're thinking that a Wahlburgers inside a grocery store can't possibly have that many menu options to choose from, you're WRONG! The menu is far from condensed and has all the burgers you know and love, plus starters, chicken, and fish options too...
