
Two Arrested After Shots-Fired Incident Outside Rockford Amazon Facility
Two individuals are in custody following a shots-fired incident in an Amazon facility parking lot that led to a foot chase.
Late-Night Shots-Fired Call Leads to Police Response
According to a press release from the Rockford PD, there was a violent confrontation outside the Amazon warehouse in the 4600 block of Shepherd Trail, just off of North Main Street, on Thursday night (11/20).

Officers were called to the scene around 11:30 pm after reports of a fight in the parking lot, followed by gunfire as two vehicles fled the area.
One vehicle was struck by a bullet on the passenger-side window, but no injuries were reported, according to the press release.
Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Chase and Arrest
Around 1:50 a.m. on Friday (11/21), Rockford Police SCOPE officers were able to locate the suspected vehicle on Linden Road and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver fled but eventually stopped in the 5200 block of Linden, and that's where the passenger ran from the car. The passenger was taken into custody after a short foot chase and was identified as 25-year-old Willie Cook of Rockford.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 25-year-old Christopher Armstrong, and following a search of the vehicle, officers say they found a handgun equipped with an illegal "automatic" switch.
Multiple Felony Charges Filed in Ongoing Investigation
After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office has authorized the following charges against the two men:
Willie Cook, 25, Rockford:
- Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
- No Valid FOID
- Resisting Arrest
- Assault
Christopher Armstrong, 25, Rockford:
- Fleeing to Elude
- Various Traffic Offenses
- Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon
- Criminal Damage to Property
- Aggravated Assault
- Battery
Both individuals were lodged in the Winnebago County Jail, and Rockford Police say the investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges to follow.
