
Teen Arrested After Vehicle Theft and Chase in Rockford
A teen was taken into custody after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle on Rockford's north end on Monday evening (7/7).
Two Stolen Vehicles Tracked Near Kilburn and Wallin
According to the press release, Rockford Police SCOPE officers were dispatched around 5:15 pm after a couple of vehicles were reported stolen near Kilburn Avenue and Wallin Street.

When officers located one of the stolen vehicles, the suspect attempted to flee from police, so Rockford PD deployed the StarChase tracking system and used stop sticks to bring the pursuit to an end.
The vehicle was successfully disabled, and the driver fled on foot, but officers quickly apprehended the juvenile after a short foot chase.
Juvenile Detained and Facing Multiple Charges
Rockford Police identified the suspect as a 15-year-old male from Rockford, and following the arrest, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office reviewed he case and authorized several charges.
The 15-year-old male has been lodged in juvenile detention and is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
- Resisting Arrest
As the investigation remains active, authorities note that additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming.
