
This Popular Home Decor Chain to Eliminate Illinois, Wisconsin Stores
Another bankruptcy filing will end up closing a couple of dozen locations of a popular home decor retailer, including Illinois and Wisconsin stores.
Underperforming Stores Closing by Fall 2025
Blaming mounting tariff pressures, inflation, declining consumer demand, and $2 billion in funded debt as their reason for store closures, this Texas-based home decor store filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on June 16, 2025, according to reports by the Wall Street Journal.

26 underperforming locations of 'At Home' will shut down operations, as the store secured a $600 million debtor-in-possession financing package to help support store operations during company restructuring, according to Business Wire.
Store Closings Will Be Completed by Fall 2025
As part of its bankruptcy plan, At Home revealed that a couple of dozen underperforming stores would be closing by September 30, 2025.
26 locations across 12 states will shut down, including the following At Home stores in Illinois and Wisconsin that will be eliminated:
- Peoria, Illinois: 5203 W. War Memorial Drive
- Crestwood (Chicago suburb): 13180 S. Cicero Avenue
- Wauwautosa, Wisconsin: 1201 North Mayfair Road
Other Retail Chains Closed Forever
At Home joins a list of other home goods retailers that have closed, including Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Big Lots, and The Container Store, according to the WSJ.
According to The Sun, At Home plans to continue its in-store and online operations during the restructuring, along with maintaining its customer loyalty programs and vendor relationships.
