The City of Rockford has partnered with 5 Alarm Coin Laundry at 3939 West Riverside Blvd., for a free laundry event for students in the Rockford School District.

The free laundry for students program is in its third year, offering a chance for students to connect with city leaders while getting their laundry done.

Rockford Mayor, Tom McNamara kicked off the weekly event on September 16th. The free laundry event happens EVERY Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m..

This laundromat looks state-of-the-art, with 33 washing machines that can hold up to eighty pounds and 44 dryers that can handle up to forty-five pounds. Be sure to follow them on their socials, and 'like' their Facebook page for deals and events.

5 Alarm Coin Laundry opened in July, and according to wifr.com,  it was with the assistance of a City of Rockford Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business Forgivable Loan for $25,000, in order to purchase equipment.
