The Illinois Railway Museum's "Happy Holiday Railway" is getting ready to hit the tracks soon, and this year they've added something new for your entire family to enjoy.

Planning Holiday Fun in Illinois

Halloween is almost here, and for me that means it's time to start planning holiday fun. You see, I am a person who LOVES the holiday season. I always get sad that it flies by so quickly, so I try to squeeze in as much Christmas fun as possible in just a few weeks. Accomplishing this task takes a good amount of planning though, and in my mind it's never too early to start!

I've already mapped out days for Christmas decorating, shopping, and cookie baking, so now I need to start scheduling some family fun! Here's one event  I think we'll add to our to-do list this holiday season.

Illinois Railway Museum's 'Happy Holiday Railway'

If you have kids or family members that love trains, you have to check out "Happy Holiday Railway" at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois.

This experience features a 40 minute ride on a beautifully decorated train, visits with Santa Claus, hot chocolate and treats, an "animated light show and holiday song presentation", a model railway exhibit, historic Chicago street car rides, and something new for 2024, an "awe-inspiring holiday light tour" through one of the museum's barns.

Happy Holiday Railway Dates and Times

Illinois Railway Museum's Happy Holiday Railway will hit the tracks on November 29, 2024 and will continue to run on Saturdays and Sundays through December 22.  Tickets are already on sale, and times are filling up fast, so you better book your trip now at irm.org.
