BREAKING: Two Rockford Men Charged in 2021 Homicide

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, Rockford Police were dispatched to a distress call for a gunshot victim at a residence in the 2400 block of Jonathan Avenue.

According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, officers arrived at approximately 5:27 p.m. to the Northside residence and discovered Louie Lee, 28, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the home.

Despite immediate medical attention, Lee was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The shocking incident was captured on the home's security cameras, and the footage was apparently leaked to the media and circulated on Rockford news sites where the public had a glimpse into the tragic event.

Murder Charges Filed Against 2 Rockford Men

Following a thorough investigation by the Rockford Police Violent Crime Unit Detectives, two suspects have been identified: Kenneth Ternoir, 34, and Brandon Taylor, 31.

Both men face first-degree murder charges in connection with Lee's death. Ternoir is currently incarcerated at the Illinois Department of Corrections for an unrelated case.

Taylor remains in the Winnebago County Jail, having been convicted in 2020 for the murder of Tammy Gonzalez.

It is important to note that charges are accusations, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, according to the Rockford Police press release.
