A new children's museum had its official opening last Friday in Freeport.

The Children's Hands-On Museum of NW Illinois is located in the Lincoln Mall and will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This will be a place kids can learn and play year round.

It features interactive exhibits where kids can learn about stuff like the arts and even farming in a hands-on sorta way.

This museum also features a sensory learning area specifically for kids with special needs.

CHOM President, Jessi Larson told WIFR:

"We felt like Freeport was missing a good place for children to play indoors. So that's kind of what drove this and an extra opportunity for children because you know the learning doesn't stop when you leave school so this is a continuation of that,”

Looks like a cool place to take the kids and check out.
