If you've lived in the Rockford area for some time, you should already know that Freeport is known as the "Pretzel City." Now, it has a Guinness World Record to prove that its residents are also known for being pretzel-like.

Pretzel Fest Becomes a Record-Breaking Event

Just a few days ago, Freeport held Pretzel Fest in honor of National Pretzel Day. During this event, they decided to attempt to break the world record for the Largest Human Pretzel Formation.

Freeport Crushes the Old Record Set in France

The old record was set in 2019 by 529 people in France, with an emphasis on the "old." That's because the fine folks of Freeport are now the proud owners of a brand-new world record: over 600 people creating the world's Largest Human Pretzel Formation.
