Florida Georgia Line’s Smash With Bebe Rexha, ‘Meant to Be,’ Hits a Billion Streams
Florida Georgia Line have officially surpassed their previous chart record for the second longest-running song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. This week, FGL celebrates 26 consecutive weeks at No. 1 with "Meant to Be," their collaboration with Bebe Rexha.
The song has also topped one billion global streams. "Meant to Be" has been streamed 19.6 million times in the U.S. alone, according to Billboard.
The country duo's previous hit, 2002's "Cruise," spent 24 weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, while Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road" currently holds the No. 1 position for an impressive 34 weeks at No. 1. FGL remain in the second and third spot for longest played songs in the chart's history. "Meant to Be" debuted at No. 1, allowing Rexha to become the first solo female to debut in the top spot.
FGL's Tyler Hubbard wrote "Meant to Be" with Rexha with Josh Miller and David Garcia. The song's music video has more than 430.9 million plus YouTube views.
Florida Georgia Line's 2018 continues to be a busy one with upcoming awards show appearances and festival performances. The duo are tied for the most nominations at the CMT Music Awards next week with four nods, including two with Rexha for Collaborative Video of the Year and Video of the Year, as well as Duo Video of the Year for “Smooth” and 2018 Performance of the Year with Backstreet Boys for “Everybody” from their CMT Crossroads episode. The CMT Awards air live from Nashville on June 6.
Days later, FGL will headline the 2018 Taste of Country Music Festival on June 8 then jet back to Nashville for a CMA Fest performance at Nissan Stadium on June 10.
