Florida Identity Theft Gang Has Made Its Way to the Rockford Area

Summer is pretty much here, which means many of us are going to be hitting up the pool, parks, and paths; leaving our cars unattended, sometimes with the windows open just a crack because we think it will somehow make our car much cooler inside.

Spoiler alert: it won't. In fact, according to Eyewitness News, all it's really doing is making it more likely for the Felony Lane Gang to break in and grab things like your wallet, laptops and any or all of your other personal belongings.

The Rockford Park District has issued a warning to alert Rockford residents that the identity theft gang from Florida has made it's way to the Stateline area and they're likely to strike on the weekends; hitting up gyms, parks and other recreational facilities.

If you think you've fallen victim to this scam, contact the police and notify your bank right away.
