This is so awesome and it 100% makes me wish I was in school again. I loved getting a new book when I was a kid. Seth Whitman Elementary School has a new program that encourages kids to read through the use of a book vending machine.

Just check out how excited they were to unveil it according to WTVO -

So here's how it works -

To get a book, students use tokens earned from doing well in class. Money to install the book vending machine came from the Race For Education fundraiser. The books are available in both English and Spanish because the school has a dual language program.

Co-president of the school Heather Steins said -

It’s an opportunity to promote literacy and positive reinforcement here at Seth Whitman Elementary, and we’re really excited for the opportunity to have such a thing.

Should more schools consider a program like this? I think yes.
