Did You Miss The Super Bowl Ad Featuring An Illinois Man and 49er Christian McCaffrey?
The San Francisco 49ers may not have been winner at Super Bowl LVIII, but one guy from Belvidere, IL certainly was!
Best 2024 Super Bowl Commercials
Watching sports on television is definitely not my thing, but I watched most of last night's Super Bowl game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs...and I actually enjoyed it! (Perhaps it is because I have a slight crush on Travis Kelce? Yes, it's probably Taylor Swift's fault)
Besides the football game itself, many people only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials, and last night's ads were no disappointment.
Here's a recap of some of the best 2024 Super Bowl commercials from TV Line...
While all those commercials are cool, there's one that didn't make the list that we have to talk about; the Xfinity commercial featuring San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Belvidere IL's Christian McCaffrey Stars in Xfinity Super Bowl Commercial
Did you happen to see this ad from Xfinity featuring two Christian McCaffreys?
The "other" Christian McCaffrey is 29-year-old man from Belvidere, Illinois who recently was flown to Los Angeles for the experience of a lifetime all thanks to his name.
Belvidere's Christian McCaffrey was up against 5 other Christian McCaffrey's in the country for the role in Xfinity's 2024 Super Bowl ad, but said he was ultimately chosen because he was the closest in height and looks to the 49ers' Christian McCaffrey.
He recently told mystateline.com;
I did everything myself, even though I had a body double, I didn’t use the body double at all.
I was catching a lot. And then they’re like, ‘all right, you’ve got to drop some or pretend to drop some,'” McCaffrey said. “And they turned the [football passing machine] up a little bit more so than I wouldn’t be able to catch it. And I got pelted in my chest, my arm, my forearms multiple times. I had bruises and everything, but it was worth it. You know, I had so much fun that I didn’t even care.”
McCaffrey admits he did not get the chance to meet 49er Christian McCaffrey during the filming process, but the running back did send him a thank you message;
McCaffrey also shared a few more cool photos from the commercial shoot...
After watching the finished commercial I can't help but wonder; how did Belvidere's Christian McCaffrey feel about being compared to a NFL pro? Here's what he told mystateline.com;
I think it’s one of the funniest commercials I’ve ever seen, even after doing everything. It was awesome.
We think it's awesome too, Christian. Congrats on a job very well done!
