2 EF-1 Tornadoes Touched Down During Wednesday’s Storms in the Stateline
The National Weather Service (NWS) confirms that two EF-1 tornadoes touched down in the Stateline on Wednesday.
TORNADO #1: WGN-TV is reporting that one storm occurred in the area from Cherry Valley to Belvidere. Winds peaked at 100 mph.
According to WGN-TV, the tornado initially touched down two miles south-southeast of Cherry Valley at 8:14 pm and traveled six miles. At 8:22 pm, the tornado lifted when the tornado was 4 miles south of Belvidere.
TORNADO #2: Began at 8:23 p.m. The NWS said this twister also had wind speeds of 100 mph. The tornado began four miles south-southeast of Belvidere and lifted after traveling for two minutes, at a short distance of 1.6 miles. The tornado lifted at 8:25 pm about 5 miles southeast of Belvidere.
