Just like a similar train explosion in Rockford on South Mulford and Harrison Avenue a few years ago, a train carrying more than 100 tankers derailed in southern West Virginia on Monday, sending at least one tanker into a river, igniting at least 14 in all and sending a fireball hundreds of feet into the sky. Check out the report and pictures here.

Fires were still burning many hours after the accident, and the plan is to let those fires burn out according to officials. According to CBS News, the blazes are expected to last another day or two.

Amazingly, only one person was being treated for potential inhalation issues, but no other injuries were reported, according to a news release from CSX, the train company.

Federal railroad and hazardous materials officials are probing into the accident.

The picture and video bring back many memories for residents in the South Rockford area.
