Fatal Hit-and-Run Under Investigation in Rockford
The identity of a woman who was killed in a tragic hit-and-run incident early Wednesday morning (10/30) has been revealed.

According to a press release from the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, 49-year-old Katherine Bellrock of Rockford was struck by a vehicle on the 1900 block of Charles Street shortly after midnight.
Emergency Responders Find Pedestrian Unresponsive
Around 12:15 a.m., a passerby discovered Ms. Bellrock lying unresponsive near the sidewalk on Charles St. and immediately contacted 911. Rockford Police officers and emergency personnel arrived quickly, assessing the scene and discovering vehicle debris near her.
Despite their efforts, Ms. Bellrock was determined to be beyond resuscitation and was officially pronounced deceased at 12:42 a.m. by the coroner's team.
Authorities Seek Information on Suspect Vehicle
Following an autopsy, it was confirmed that Ms. Bellrock’s death resulted from blunt trauma to the head, caused by the impact of the vehicle
he suspect vehicle was not located at the scene, and the Rockford Police Department, in collaboration with the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, continues to investigate.
