Today’s Severe Weather Threat for Rockford

The last few days we've been hearing a lot of local weather forecasters talking about the chance of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into evening. Yes, severe storms with the potential for thunder, lightning, hail and more are still in the forecast, but meteorologists now agree that the severest threat is out of the Rockford area. 

Major snowstorms are an inconvenience, but don't scare me. Severe thunderstorms with the possibility for tornadoes and all that jazz scare the bejeezus out of me, so I was very thankful to see this update from Illinois Storm Chasers pop up on my Facebook newsfeed this morning.

Keep thoughts and prayers with our neighbors to the West, primarily on the Iowa/Missouri/Illinois border where the severest weather threat seems to be.
