It looks like the weather pattern over Illinois is about to get excitable again. A new forecast says the incoming heat dome which will cause temperatures to spike into the 90's is expected to ignite a storm pattern that could even include derechos in parts of the Land of Lincoln.

If you value your vehicle's exterior, you might want to park it under something Tuesday evening if you live in Missouri or Illinois. Both states are in the danger zone for explosive thunderstorm development that could include big hail and damaging wind Tuesday evening.

I always look forward to summer in Illinois because I expect the weather to be in the 80s all the time. That's not always the case, though.

It rarely happens, but every now and then the winds in Wisconsin get fierce which is exactly happened on a 4th of July many many years ago. It was on that day that parts of Wisconsin were slammed by the equivalent of category 3 hurricane-force winds.

We know that weather is tricky as there are so many variables that determine if a forecast is accurate. However, there is increasing confidence that Wisconsin is entering a danger zone of sorts with wind and lightning damage possible in parts of the state beginning Thursday.

The National Weather Service stated that the storm will hit Illinois on Tuesday afternoon, possibly producing large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

Not only have we experienced every season; spring, summer, fall and winter in a matter of weeks, but we are now entering the most dangerous and deadliest month in Illinois.
