This Is The Smallest Forest Preserve In Winnebago County I’ve Ever Seen

This is the smallest forest preserve I've ever seen in Winnebago County.

After passing the entrance to this forest preserve several times over on Baxter Road,  My boyfirend and I decided to drive through it and check it out.

Well we really couldn't drive through it, because it ended before it started.

Literally.

I don't think it was 1,000 feet when my boyfriend and I came upon a sign that said "Beyond this point is private property. No tresspassing".

A true to it's word there were homes right passed the sign. We had to turn around.

What is the point of this forest preserve?

Why even have well maintained sign presenting it, when there's nothing there but a black top driveway between trees and overgrowth?

This is so small it really isn't worth marking as a place to visit. At least That's my opinion.

Does anyone know the story behind this piece of land?
