The gym that was used in the 1986 classic film "Hoosiers" is in dire need of repairs.

WGN shares that the 1920's build gym that was used in the Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper flick "Hoosiers" "needs a new roof, brick repairs and new windows."

The gym sees and or serves over 70,000 people every year whether it's for sight seeing visitors or as the community center for kids to play basketball.

The repairs are estimated at a cost of $500,000.

Wow! That's a pretty big tag on iconic building to keep in pristine condition.

Gym officials might pursue a grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

They need to replace 31 windows, put on a new roof and brick work and the gym must come up with at least 20% of the funds for the repairs.
