Columbus day weekend is the busiest weekend for Illinois' number one attraction, and Starved Rock State Park is gearing up for the numbers of visitors that are coming.

Many last minute outdoor seekers of hiking and camping will flock to the state park for that one last weekend out with the camper, kids and friends, before we have to put them away in storage.

WIFR reports that travelers should expect "should expect traffic delays and possible temporary park closures Saturday through Monday."

The closures in the park are a result of having no parking spaces. When spaces open up then the park will reopen.

"Officials say visitors should arrive early and follow directions of park staff law enforcement officers."

Also, to keep updated on the park closures, openings and other details by visiting their website at www.starvedrockstatepark.org

Hmmm, I wonder if the ghost haunting the park will be heard with all the activity Starved Rock is expecting?
