Starbucks is doing their part to help those in need bu=y donating all of their unused food to the hungry.

WGN reports that on Tuesday, Starbucks announced that they will donate "100 percent of its leftover food to two groups, Feeding America and Food Donation Connection.

Starbucks said that the idea to donate the leftover food came form their own employees. "Several baristas spoke out about the policy of trashing food, and Starbucks decided to find a way to launch the program while still complying with the food safety regulations that have made such large donations difficult."

Starbucks looks at this new venture as a two-fer one deal as one they give quality to food to feed the hungry and two they "minimize their environmental footprint". It's a win-win situation for them and for Feeding America and Food Donation Connection.
