The St. Louis Cardinals front office officials are being investigated by the FBI and Justice Department prosecutors for hacking into the Houston Astros internal networks. Here are the shocking details.

Fox Sports is reporting that The New York Times report states that the Cardinals were able to tap into the Astros' internal discussions about trades, proprietary statistics and scouting reports. That alone would give any and all teams an advantage in Major League Baseball.

The FBI's Houston field office reportedly is heading the investigation and has progressed enough that subpoenas have been served.

Major League Baseball is aware of and is fully cooperated with the federal investigation.

According to the report, the hacking took place in part as an act of revenge against Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

Watch for more details as they develop.
