What started as a taco truck on the streets of Rockford has grown into several restaurants, a deli market, and now an international supermarket.
Olivo Supermarket is located in the former Save-A-Lot location at 2514 S. Alpine Road, and if you’re familiar with the Olivo name, you probably already have a pretty good idea that this isn’t your average supermarket.
What Makes Olivo Supermarket Different?
Olivo Supermarket is focused on international foods, fresh produce and fresh meats, so it will be a great place for shoppers to find ingredients and products that aren't always carried at traditional grocery stores.
The owners of Olivo Supermarket have also said they welcome customer input on what they would like to see on the store's shelves. So, if there is a particular ingredient, snack, meat or other grocery item you've been hunting for, make sure you tell them!
Will There Be Tacos?
Since this supermarket is owned by the Olivo Taco family, I can't help but wonder: will they be selling their famous 3 for $5 tacos at the supermarket too?
Someone recently asked on Olivo Supermarket's Facebook page whether there would be a taqueria or deli, and the response was this: "Yes, very soon".
