Disney's been one of the leaders in the industry when it comes to animatronics and robots in general, the most recent endeavor being their new Spiderman robot that does flips and tricks as it flies freely through the air.

It's supposed to look like this when everything is going right. That's not a human, that's just a robot doing some flips and tricks in the air.

Well, like any piece of electronics, any piece of equipment, and just like anything in show business, something didn't go quite right this weekend.

The animatronic Spiderman seemed to not release from the launch cable, which in turn inhibited it from reaching the platform it needed to.

As it came down, it missed the landing net and broke a decent-sized chunk of the set.
