A pumpkin patch in South Beloit is holding a special kind of food drive this Saturday.

When you give them can goods you will get a pumpkin for free.

Amazing Grace Lutheran Church invites you to a fun food drive to help benefit the Rockton Food Pantry.

This Saturday, October 13th from 9 am to 3 pm, you can pick out any size of pumpkin from their patch for free with the donation of two or more canned goods or food items.

In addition to picking out your own pumpkin, you and the kids can enjoy noshing on hot dogs, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, walking their trails and the kids can jump around in their bouncy house.

The Amazing Grace property is located at 14714 Willowbrook Rd at Prairie Hill School in South Beloit. Their patch is "approximately 200 yards west of Willowbrook Rd. on Prairie Hill Rd."

Their pumpkin patch was "planted, maintained, and picked with the purpose of helping the Stateline community."

They encourage everyone to "come out and support [their] efforts to help feed the hungry of our community."

I think that is a great idea. It's a win-win situation where two purposes are filled. You're helping the hungry with food and you're getting your perfect pumpkin to decorate your home for fall and Halloween.
