Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively Donate $1M To Chicago Children’s Organization

Superstar couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively donated $1 million to a Chicago children's rights organization specializing in helping kids separated from their families at US borders.

The non-profit is called the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights and the donation by Reynolds and Lively is the second from a high profile power couple.

Chicago Sun-Times:

Another famous married couple — George and Amal Clooney — donated $100,000 to the group at a time when public fury over family separation policies under the administration of President Donald Trump spiked.

Making large monetary donations to specialized charities and non-profits is nothing new to Reynolds and Lively.

People:

Reynolds has collaborated with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to bring kids onto his film sets for meet and greets...given his support to organizations such as F— Cancer and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, where he also sits on the board of directors.

Lively has also been involved in charitable organizations including Chime for Change, a global initiative founded by Beyonce, Salma Hayek and former Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, which raises money toward a charity of choice.

The best part about the charitable donations from Reynolds and Lively is the lack of pomp and circumstance. They're a major Hollywood couple giving back to their fans, and the rest of the world.

Lively, in a statement shared by Variety:

Over the last few years, our perspective has grown and we’ve realized we have to do everything possible to foster more compassion and empathy in this world. History’s being written right now. We’re grateful to give back to organizations who give voice to so many.
