If you're looking for some healthier options when dining out TGI Friday's, including Rockford, is taking a step forward by adding a vegan option to their menu.

Meatpoultry caught up with the chain restaurant and found that they have partnered with Beyond Meat, a plant based protein company, to cook up a Beyond Burger exclusively for TGI Friday's.

The Beyond Burger is currently being tested for eight weeks in their Boston area restaurants. However by early 2018 all TGI Friday's, including Rockford's, will have the 6 oz. plant based protein burger added to their menu.

Stephanie Perdue, TGI Friday's Cheif Marketing Officer says that “Friday's is constantly innovating to appeal to an array of tastes and lifestyles, which includes offering more options for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike,” and that the company “tested many concepts and The Beyond Burger was far and away the favorite plant-based burger among both our guests and chefs, making it the ideal addition to our popular Burger Bar.”

By the looks of this burger, can I just say yum. It looks freakin' delicious.



I can't wait to try it. I already like veggie burgers, so this has got to be just as good. TGI Friday's wouldn't put just any meat free burger on their menu.
