We told you another blast of winter will strike Rockford and its neighbors, but we didn't know the potential impact it could have on driving conditions. There's an ICE STORM WARNING from 3 p.m. (Tuesday) through 6 a.m. (Wednesday).

According to meteorologist Mark Henderson, things could escalate quickly. You're not going to want to be driving in this.

Just about all of Northern Illinois has been upgraded to an ICE STORM WARNING, beginning late this afternoon and lasting through early Wednesday morning. In addition to extremely difficult, if not impossible travel this evening and overnight, tree damage and considerable power outages are also a distinct possibility.

US National Weather Service Chicago says Rockford is right in the middle of the worst of the ice storm. #bringonsummer
