$2 Million Investment in Rockford Promise Scholarships
One of the highlights is a $2 million annual contribution to Rockford Promise, funded by casino revenue.

The program offers eligible students tuition-free scholarships to Northern Illinois University and Rockford University, providing life-changing educational opportunities for local families.
Key Investments in Technology and Public Safety
The budget also addresses critical capital equipment replacement needs and continues investments in technology to improve city services.
These upgrades are being made without adding additional staff, a move aimed at enhancing efficiency while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Public safety funding received an increase in this year’s budget, reflecting a continued commitment to protecting residents and ensuring the well-being of the community.
