In 2018, there were 235 deaths related to mental illness, just in Winnebago County. More mental health resources are needed.

On March 17, voters will be asked whether or not a half cent sales tax should be added to help the county offer more mental health services. More resources means more lives saved.

According to Yes We Care 815's Facebook page:

Most counties fund mental health services through property taxes. We believe that a small ½ cent sales tax can meet community needs – rather than increasing property taxes.

Just one penny for every two dollars spent could add up to as much as $13 million yearly, according to a recent estimate at MyStateline.com.
