
Chicago to Host Historic Celebration for First American Pope
Calling all Catholics in Illinois, there is going to be a special celebration for Pope Leo XIV at Chicago White Sox's Rate Field this June, and tickets just went on sale!

As a proud Illinoisan, I'm excited that Chicago, Illinois native, Robert Francis Prevost, now known as Pope Leo XIV, has gone down in history as the first American pope!

I think most Illinoisans, regardless of their religious background, would also agree that this historical achievement should be celebrated, and that is exactly what Chicago is going to do this June!
According to the Chicago Crusader:
The day’s program at Rate Field is scheduled to begin with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. The main program, featuring music, film, in-person testimonials, and prayer, will commence at 2:30 p.m., leading up to a Catholic Mass at 4:00 p.m.
Now the big question is, will Pope Leo be in attendance?
Kind of. He'll be delivering a special address prior to mass via the big screen.
Tickets for 'Chicago Celebrates Pope Leo XIV'
Tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event at Rate Field in Chicago on Saturday, June 14, 2025 are only $5 apiece and are on sale now at ticketmaster.com. There is a 10 ticket limit per person, and parking passes are also on sale for $5.
As I write this, tickets are still available to purchase, but I'm pretty sure they won't last long, so get them now while you still can!
