Local K-9 Officer Save Woman from Suicide

One local police officer and his K-9 partner saved a local suicidal woman on Wednesday morning.

MyStateline.com is reporting that Police was contacted by a man saying that he found his wife's car at the Hononegah Forest Preserve.  The call came in on Wednesday morning at around 11:30am.

Deputy Eric Pearson along with his K-9 partner, Chico, were sent to the areas to search for her.

Thanks to Chico leading officers into a heavily wooded area the woman was found alive. She was however unconscious and unresponsive.

Paramedics on-scene did say that if Deputy Pearson and Chico hadn't found her when they did, she would have most likely died.

She was taken to a hospital in Rockford to be treated.
