On the heels of store closures that affected a large number of customers in 2015, including the Belvidere location, K-Mart has announced another large round of store closures.

USA Today is reporting that K-mart's parent corporation will close 68 more K-mart stores and 10 Sears stores in an effort to cut losses. The closings will take place this summer.

Six Illinois stores and one Wisconsin location will close

Illinois locations that will close

  • 7050 S Pulaski, Chicago
  • 2721 N Vermillion Street, Danville
  • 1150 W Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg
  • 17355 Torrence Ave., Lansing
  • 2909 Court St., Pekin
  • 3840 46th Ave, Rock Island

Wisconsin Location that will close

  • 1275 Bell Avenue, Hartford

The East State Street and Sandy Hollow locations are NOT on the closing list.

Last year the Belvidere K-mart shut it's doors in December after a liquidation sale that ran from October through December

According to USA Today, K-mart sales have been falling and Sears had a disappointing holiday sales season.
