Currently, there are 49 Noodles & Company spots in Illinois, and simple math and the law of averages should tell you that, of the currently 340 company-owned and 83 franchised restaurants, at least one, if not more, in the Land of Lincoln, will be closed in 2026.

This comes on the heels of major retailers like Macy's and GameStop announcing more closures in 2026. This just adds to the trend, but when it comes to restaurants, tomorrow isn't promised. A new study found that 51% of restaurants don't make it past five years, so if you're wondering whether the Noodles & Company in Rockford is safe, it's been open for well over five years.

The Rockford Location: A Dining Favorite

That would suck, too, because they are a popular dining destination in Rockford. Overall, the Noodles and Company at 6430 East State Street is rated a 3.3 out of 5 on Yelp. Positive comments say Noodles and Company in Rockford is a "great place to order some quick pasta," but negative remarks have called out the dining room's cleanliness, especially the self-serve soda machine.
