There's some hope for anyone who is going through a difficult time. If you need help putting food on the table, find a way to get to this event.

On Thursday, April 15th, City First Church and the Northern Illinois Food Bank will be distributing free food, starting at 10:00 a.m. until supplies last. The event marks one year that this partnership has been feeding those in need in the Rockford area. Close to two million pounds of food have helped more than 26,000 families.

The free food distribution will take place in the church's parking lot at 5950 Spring Creek Road in Rockford. The start time will be at 10:00 a.m.. You are also allowed to get in line early on that day. The drive-thru is contactless and all you have to do is open your trunk and a volunteer will put boxes of protein, fresh produce and dairy products inside.

If you're interested in volunteering to help distribute food for this event, you could join members of the City First Church serve team. Send an email to serve@cityfirst.church to sign up. If you'd like to make a difference by donating to the COVID-19 Relief Fund, be sure to visit cityfirst.church/give.
